Why become a PADI Instructor in the Philippines?

Live the dream! The PADI Instructor Development Course is designed to give you the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to competently teach diving. The IDC expands upon the foundation of practical knowledge you already learnt during your Divemaster course – you remember studying all the physics right!

The IDC builds upon your Divemaster course and also teaches you how to manage students, teach courses from Discover Scuba to Divemaster and solve problems. The PADI IDC will set you up for a fantastic career in the scuba diving industry. Here at IDP we train our instructor candidates to not only become the best instructors they can be but to be fully prepared for the life of a PADI Pro.

PADI
Instructor Development Course
with IDP

In 2013 Liquid Dive Dumaguete and Atmosphere Resorts joined forces and created Instructor Development Philippines, with one main goal; to be able to offer the most comprehensive instructor training program in the Philippines with the unique aspect of being held in two 5* PADI CDC Dive Resorts. Now a decade later, IDP is successfully offering seven IDC programs a year and can also boast to being the only IDC program in the country that is led by two in-house PADI Course Directors, both of whom live and work at their respective dive resorts ensuring you have the support necessary before, during and after your IDC Program. We are fully up-to-date and ready to make you the best PADI Pro you can be.

Our goal is not to just train PADI Dive Instructors that can teach people to master dive skills and dive knowledge, but also to influence the attitudes of their students towards the ocean. If we did anything less we would be shrinking from our duty as role model professional dive educators. We are not in it for the accolades or recognition but because we have a passion for teaching instructors.

Required Materials and Equipment

You will need to equip yourself with all the basic scuba gear expected of PADI IDC candidates and some accessories such as surface signalling devices, dive knife, compass, dive watch, etc.

In order to conduct the IDC you will need the Digital Instructor Candidate Crewpack as well as the Slate Pack with Aquatic Cue Cards. The Digital Crewpack includes the IDC eLearning, Diving Knowledge Workbook, the latest Guide to Teaching as well as digital versions of exam booklets and some Specialty Instructor manuals.

These materials can be ordered through Instructor Development Philippines prior to the start of the course.

IDC eLearning

At Instructor Development Philippines we pride ourselves on using the most up-to-date materials available. Over the last few years PADI has launched the PADI Digital IDC Candidate Crewpack as well as the EFR Instructor Digital Crewpack.

With less time needed in the classroom for lectures it allows us to spend more time on workshops and in the water. As previously mentioned we do not simply go through the motions and tick the boxes. We have less material to cover in class and thus this gives us extra time during the IDC to focus on each candidate’s specific needs, whether they be water based or classroom teaching skills. We are able to offer extra counselling time on a daily basis for this specific reason.
